Marketing & Advertising with Video on the Internet
Hi, my name is Alan Bunyan and as you can see I am not a young Internet whiz kid. I don’t design websites for a living. But I have designed a number of websites for myself and family and friends. However, I do know a great deal about how the whole Internet technology works. Especially business marketing on the Internet. Small business marketing or local business marketing is my area of expertise.
Choosing to have a website is part one of a two step process. It is a bit like adverising in a local newpaper. Step one is designing the advertisement and step two is ensuring its insertion and distribution in the newspaper. Step two of marketing with a website is online marketing of your website on the Internet and ensuring it is found and viewed by the clients you are marketing to.
I have learnt and implimented the process needed to achieve a page one ranking on the search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing etc. I have a number of website that I am responsible for ensuring that business comes in via the websites. All of the websites I am responsible for bring in over 90% of all new business to those businesses.
If you only carryout step one of the website design then your website will only be a brochure. If you carryout step two of marketing your website then it will bring you new business. Online marketing your website means ensuring your signposts to your website on the Internet are prominent and larger than your competition.
In the traditional world of advertising in print you can become prominent by buying a bigger advertisement than the competition and ensuring it is located on a prime page. On the Internet your website is the same as everybody elses. OK they may have more pages than you but they all sit behind the main index page.
The key to being found first, on the Internet, by your potential new customers, before your competitors is to appear on page one of every search engine when a person types into a browser, keywords related to your products and services. The term to achieve this is called optimising a website for the search engines.
To achieve this on a sustainable basis, so that your website is always on page one, month in and month out must be done in the correct manor. Search engines many years ago could be fooled into ranking a webite high through methods that you can only call cheating. Now the search engines are very clever and not only not rank the cheating website but will also delist them for ever in some cases.
However there is now a second way to achieve a page one ranking on the search engines and that is with video. Google who now owns YouTube.com treats video in a similar manor to websites. Videos, especially business videos, can now appear in Google searches even if the video has no relationship to a website. Which means that if you have a website and a video about your business both can and do appear on page one when relevant keywords are searched.

Scanning photos,negatives and slides to digital is £0.30 per photo.
Editing and transfering photos and video to DVD is from £0.50 per minute.
